Short crack to rear hinge and a few small scuffs, text quite clean though plates with the usual toning and foxing. Very Good. ******************* First edition, an early issue with the following points: with signature mark "E" present on p. 25, first line of second paragraph of chapter V with "ruined wall" (p. 43,) the rare signature misprint on p. 261 reading "X2," and "holding" on p. 260.
