Description
This Native American basket, probably used for storage, appears to have been made by the Pomo people of northern California during the late 19th century.  Pomo baskets are known for their exquisite appearance and fineness of weave.  This one has a coarser weave and seems to be made of willow and redbud plant.  It measures approximately 13" x 13" x 10" overall; the opening at the top measures 11" to 12" diameter.  It is in very good condition.
