Howard Finster Cut-out of Zebra Signed Dated 1998 Folk Art. Visionary Southern Artist and Baptist Minister Howard Finster of Summerville, Georgia, born December 2, 1916 and died October 22, 2001. The Reverend Howard Finster is famous for having received his calling by seeing the face of God in his fingerprint in paint. He developed his Garden of Visions in Georgia and painted sacred art for many years, eventually coming to fame for designing album covers for R.E.M. and The Talking Heads. Purchased directly from the artist and being sold from the original large collection of Southern Visionary Folk Art.
