Item Details

Description

Large Capodimonte Porcelain Figure, 20th c., of Venus and Cupid, on an integral flower strewn base, H.- 14 3/4 in., W.- 7 1/4 in., D.- 7 in.

Condition

As found. An apparent repair is noted to the upper body of Cupid and the base. A hairline crack is seen through the middle of the base and both figures' left feet. An approximate 1 inch streak of yellow paint is seen on the bottom edge of Venus' robe. Yellow discoloration is seen on Cupid's upper body, raised arm and left wing. Yellow discoloration and a circular hairline crack are also noted on the top of the column. An approximate 1 cm hairline crack is noted in the front of the purple sash. Moderate wear is observed throughout the gilt with heavy wear on some areas of the base and column. A nice pair. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
