CASED COLT 1911 PISTOL HAMADA ENGRAVED
Cased Colt 1911 pistol, with additional slide and barrel assembly. Engraved and signed by Hamada gun smith in Japan in 1952. Accurized by J. E. Clark in 1954. Encased in felt lined wood presentation case.
Caliber / Gauge: .45 acp
Serial Number: 240693-C
Provenance: Lifelong Firearm Collection of Floyd Coleman (1914 – 2015), a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He was also an avid firearms collector, award-winning competitive shooter, and gunsmith. Coleman first tried to enlist for service in the US Navy in 1928, at the age of 14. Discovering his young age, the Navy denied his enlistment. He then decided he would try enlisting in the Army, where they did not focus on his age, and he was accepted. He went on to serve a long and distinguished military career, which included being in the first wave to hit the beach on D-Day. His service at Normandy earned him the French Legion of Honor, awarded by the French Government. Coleman retired as a Captain on January 31st, 1957. Following his time in the service, he went on to a successful career in private aviation. You can read Coleman’s biography and detailed account of his military service at www.warriorsaga.com.
