Description: A blue and white porcelain rectangular pen holder. Two holes, one in center, one in corner. Circular design with a blue leaf in each corner. Standing on four small corner feet.
History: Inkwells illustrate the class distinctions so evident in earlier times. Prior to the 16th century, it was considered undignified for an aristocrat to do his own writing and a scrivener would fulfill the duties of correspondence.
