Description: Circa 1920's polychromed bronze statuette of an Arab Bedoine in flowing robes, riding a camel and armed with a traditional flintlock musket. Both rider and are polychromed in red, silver, orange, and subdued gold tones. Sculpture is properly signed and sits upon it's original slab of black marble.

History: Antoine Bofill was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1895, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona and he exhibited . He exhibited at the Spanish salons as well as at the Salon of the Societe des Artistes Francais circa 1902-1920s. He specialized in small figures and groups.

Condition is good with some paint loss and minor bending to the riders musket. The marble base has had an old repair to the right, rear, corner of it's base as well as minor chipping to the forward, right, corner of the pedestal as well. The bottom of the marble base is void of it's original paper pad.
