Description: Korean Koryu Period 17th Century Celadon Bowl decorated with a handmade floral motif in the center. The unique grey/green Koryu celadon glaze is a result of iron oxide's transformation from ferric to ferrous iron during the firing process.
History: Celadon is a term for ceramics denoting both a type of glaze and wares of the jade green celadon colour, the later also known as "greenware". Celadon originated in China, and notable kilns such as the Longquan kiln in Zhejiang province are renowned for their artwork.
