Item Details
Description
Description: Here is a stunning Murano art glass vase created for the Ann Primrose collection. It is 14 " high with a background of black and green leaves, feather like fall leaves and flowers on purple stems. Various rock shapes at the base. The inside is lime green. The Murano sticker remains on the bottom, along with the engraved name, Ann Primrose.

History: The evolution of Murano glass vases happened mainly at the beginning of the 1900's, thanks to the contribution of Vittorio Zecchin, Napoleone Martinuzzi and Carlo Scarpa. The first can be considered the first great modern designer. Napoleone Martinuzzi, glass designer and entrepreneur, invented a series of elegant, opaque, sculptural vases. Carlo Scarpa, in collaboration with "Vetri Muranesi Venini & C" as art director, started to experiment, alongside Paolo Venini himself, with Murano glass and the opportunities it offers as a raw material, giving life to incredibly modern objects.
