This pair captures the heart and soul of two of the world's most beloved storybook friends - Edith and Little Bear from The Lonely Doll book series by author Dare Wright. Edith is made by doll artists Kent and Martha Melton. She is all felt, fully jointed, and wears her iconic pink and white checkered dress, white apron, and black shoes. Little Bear is made by Steiff, as was the original in the story. He is mohair, jointed, and has his traditional detailing, including an airbrushed bellybutton and pink nose stitch. The set is numbered 014/750 and was produced in 1997 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first publication of The Lonely Doll in 1957. Condition: As noted.
