Description
1st millennium BC. A bronze ladle comprising a segmented round-section handle, bowl with pouring lip and band of scroll patterns to the rim, to the upper end, a nude male figure crouching with arms folded resting on the knees, coiled hairstyle, trapezoidal plaque to the rear pierced to accept a suspension ring. Property of a London gentleman; acquired in the late 1970s and 1980s. 414 grams, 38.5cm (15 1/4").
