A choice Nayarit seated female figure, West Mexico, c. 200 BC - AD 200, sitting on a 2-legged stool, wearing a domed headdress, her right hand to her mouth ingesting a hallucinogen, left hand on her leg. Extremely well-preserved with glossy burnished surfaces and black resist painted swirls around her body representing tattoos. H: 6 in (15.2 cm). A very handsome example with much eye appeal. Ex Dr. John Hilsabeck estate, Orange County.
