A LUBA/HEMBA CARYATID STOOLDemocratic Republic of Congo, Central Africa. This is a double caryatid stool, presenting a male and female figure, with similar darkened coifs, standing with arms bent at the elbows. Note the variation in Armbands as well as the well eroded base, custom Mounted for display. Tribal Repairs to stress fractures with copper plate, note the varied patina on the copper. The Stool measures 20 X 13 inches. A professional custom display stand is included. Provenance: Private NYC collection , also The Leonard Kahan Gallery, NYC.
