DESCRIPTION: Moses Soyer (Russian/American, 1899-1974) framed and matted charcoal on paper of a standing female nude. Signed upon the lower right in pencil "M Soyer". Born in Czarist Russia, he emigrated to the United States and eventually settled in New York City with his family. He studied at the New York at Cooper Union, the National Academy of Design, the Educational Alliance, and the Modern School. During the Depression he worked for the Works Projects Administration. MEASUREMENTS: 13-1/2" x 9-1/2". Overall with frame 22-1/2" x 18-1/2". CONDITION: Toning throughout. Separation and wear to frame.
