Description
A large, heavy, shiny badge with POLICE on top SPECIAL AGENT and U.P. RAILROAD on the bottom with "324" and a small State seal of Texas in the center. It's big measuring 2 1/4" by 3". The back is flat with a gentle curve side-to-side. The pin and clasp works fine. It was made by Smith and Warren. They are in business making Police and Fire Department badges today. They have a web site.
Years ago I was advised to avoid police badges because they were being reproduced and other fantasy pieces also hit the market. I have never learned how to spot fakes and it seems like everyone likes to think that they are experts on this ability. On a good side all of the police badges we are selling are from one long time collector friend of mine and I know he would not intentionally buy or sell a fake.
