A military presentation plaque, which were created as gifts for big celebrations ,such as jubilees, and were given to hero-soldiers and officers for special achievements. Magnificently painted depicting a scene within a hall filled with men in military attire and women in fancy garb. Behind them, a statue with various coat of arms hanging on the statue's spears. Signed in bottom left corner to read Ad. Ladurner 1838. The back covered with white polish gilding and has a double eagle with all ornaments, also made by hand. The frame hand carved with Romanoff Imperial double eagle. Entirety gilded with gold leaf. The border of the frame carved with acanthus leaf design. The top carved to read 1848 and with the same crest on the back. H: 20 1/4 in., L: 17 1/2 in.
