Neal Tait (British, b. 1965)
Born in Edinburgh, Neal Tait studied at London’s Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Exploring the tensions between opposites – the figurative and the abstract, the logical and the absurd, the beautiful and the grotesque – Tait’s works often incorporate found materials to push the limits of representation. In 2000, Tait was awarded the British School at Rome Fellowship. His first solo exhibition was held in 2006 at Museum Dhont-Dhaenens in Belgium, and has since been the subject of solo exhibitions at White Cube in London, Sies + Höke Galerie in Düsseldorf, and Monica da Cardenas in Milan. The artist currently lives and works in London.
