Description
Francisco Goya (Spain, 1746 - 1828) etching #30 from his Los Desastres de la Guerra (Disasters of War) series titled ESTRAGOS DE LA GUERRA, (Ravages of war). Possibly early edition, the number 1 and crescent mark in the lower left margin are similar to other first editions examined for comparision. High resolution images of etching available upon request. Housed in a black wooden frame. Plate: 5 1/2" H x 6 5/8" W. Sight: 5 3/8" H x 6 3/8" W. Framed: 12 3/4" H x 13 1/2" W. Provenance: Estate of author and UT professor Jon Manchip White, Knoxville, TN. Condition
Overall very good condition, few foxing spots top and left side of outer margin. Numerous foxing spots scattered on surface visible on back of print. 2 5/8" paper tear top left of outer margin line, hidden behind mat.
