Description
A George III silver coffee jug on an associated stand, the jug, maker's mark TJ (unregistered), London 1768, the stand by Charles Frederick Kandler, London 1756, the baluster jug with a twist lobed finial, a leather covered loop handle, on a collet foot, engraved with an armorial, the stand with a moulded ring, outstanding leaf-capped S-scroll supports, a gadrooned rim to the cylindrical burner, on shell feet, engraved with a crest, 26cm (10 1/4in) high, 727g (23.35 oz) gross The arms and crest of COTTON impaling PARSONS for Sir John Hinde Cotton (d. 1775), 4th baronet of Landwade and MP for Cambridge (1765 and 1771) who married Anne, 2nd daughter of Alderman Humphrey Parsons, Lord Mayor of London (1731).
