A GEORGE III SILVER COFFEE JUG
by John Parker I & Edward Wakelin, maker's mark only, c.1770, pear-shaped, the hinged domed cover chased with ribbon-tied swags and with a fruit-form finial, the circular foot with a gadrooned border. 24.5cm high, 22.9 troy ounces gross
Struck thrice with the maker's mark. There are a couple of dints in the body. The hinge is in good order, and the cover closes well. No personalised engraving or erasure. The coffee jug stands upright and does not rock. In generally good condition commensurate with age and use.
