The porcelain paperweight potted in shape of a Deer laying on its four legs in relaxing position, facing right shoulder, holding a sacred Lingzhi fungus stalk on its back. The body decorated with gilt floral motif against brown underglazed ground. Deer is symbol of longevity because it can live for very long time. It is only animal capable of searching out the fungus of immortality. Also, the animal who accompanies ShuoLao, the God of Longevity, as well as other Immortals.

Mark on base, six incised seal script -ZhuanShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.
