Unusual French brass firescreen from the late 19th century. Smaller in size to fit the fireplaces of the day but large enough for many of today's hearths. The heart shaped screen easily movable with the turned black wooden handle above the horse shoe shaped top opening. Decorative brass surrounds the form and carried over into the dual legs for support. Ornate floral swags add interest to the top portion either side. The heart shaped screen in excellent condition itself has recently been rewired with tiny copper wire into holes in the frame by the professional who repaired a tiny portion of the frame.
