Description
Includes 10" t x 8" wide signed photograph of Ray Dandridge, signed by him. He is wearing a jersey reading "Mexico.' Very clear clean autograph. Cloth piece 11.25" x 20" w showing faces and names of 12 famous baseball players, including that of Hank Aaron and Willie Mays; others include Rocky Colavito. Excellent condition. Negro Heroes magazine, published by National Urban League, 1948, featuring Jackie Robinson, Rookie of the Year, also has story of Booker T. Washington in the magazine. Freeman's Journal, Cooperstown, NY, 1987, featuring story on Induction rites, signed by three of the people featured: Jim "Catfish Hunter," Billy Williams and Ray Dandridge, African-American player, who spent the better of of a distinguished career in the Negro leagues and the Mexican League. He had the misfortune to play most of his career in a time before the "the color barrier" was broken in the Majors. The signatures are clear and bold.
