Juvet & Co Terrestrial Relative Time Globe, cast brass base with 3 leg gargoyle support; Paper label on globe reads: Round Cartouche Surmounted by Eagle: RELATIVE/ TIME GLOBE/ MANUFACTURED/ BY/ JUVET & CO,/ CANAJOHARIE,/ N.Y./ U.S.A./ [U.S. & English Patent Information 1867-1879] This globe was patented October 28, 1879 by Adelbert G. Richmond, a Canajoharie businessman, and by Juvet's partner, James Arkell. It was subsequently assigned to Juvet & Co. The terrestrial globe appears to have been supplied by W. & A.K. Johnston. The equatorial ring is missing a section about 4-4 1/2" in length. There is no arrow present running through the poles. There is paper loss on the equatorial ring, some paper loss and staining on the globe, and chips to glass bezel over dial.
