Description
An Apulian amphora with large straining sieve and lid, c. 4th – 3rd Century BC, in plain-ware, with narrow ring foot and two handles. The internal straining sieve pierced in a cruciform design bordered by double incised lines, holes all around the outside. A very nice example of a scarcer pottery form used in everyday life. H: 8 ¾ in (22.3cm). Ex collection of Howard Sirak, Columbus, OH.
