U.S. Navy Asiatic Fleet commercial souvenir photo album containing 54 b/w photographs and twenty pieces of Chinese paper currency, 23pp., 8 1/2" x 11 1/2". Contains numerous views of Shanghai and Nanking, as well as the Great Wall and many portraits of Chinese women in Western garb. The introduction by the Chinese printer on the first page reads, in part: "...Within these pages are collected through months of service in China various pictures to keep in mind by gone days and rekindle anew old memories of the Asiatic Station. Perhaps some people may not approve of the contents and it is with the warning that though there is nothing in these pages that should not in the mind of the owner be there, nevertheless you are cautioned that you do so at your own free will and risk...". Covers are worn, else good.
