August Otto (German, 19th/20th Century) Vase. Ceramic vase bears a dark green glaze with an applied dragon wrapped around the neck and opening. Side of vase is impressed "Aug Otto". Underside is stamped "JM+ 1733", for Johann Maresch Height: 17.5"

The lot is in overall good condition. The handle of the vase is formed by the neck of a stylized dragon. It appears as though the handle was broken off entirely from the underside of the head where it attaches to the vase, and at the base of the neck just above the animal's shoulder. We are unable to determine if the lot was then touched up with paint. The piece does not illuminate under black light anywhere throughout the vase. The remainder of the piece is in overall excellent condition and does not sustain chipping or evident damage.
