Currier & Ives lithographed the West for the railroad. The coastal scene above presents a California that is both abundant and simple. A magnificent mountain peaks above clouds. Ships harbor in the distance and a man walks with his burros towards the village along the coast road, 10"h x 14"w, 1857-1872.

Condition

Loss to the right side of the paper: 3"h x 1.375"w, scattered foxing, two tears at center bottom margins, longest: 1.5"l.
