Swelled butt of alternating strips of mahogany and bamboo, wrapped tan with full intermediates, mortised walnut reel seat, spiked ferrules engraved with T&T logo, nickel silver sliding band engraved "Thomas & Thomas" with decorative engraving, highly engraved two inch nickel silver butt cap including an oval area, which is marked "FOUNTAINHEAD / - 1983 - / no. 5 of 20 / COMMEMORATIVE / PHILLIPE - GREEN - MITCHELL - MURPHY" IN FIVE LINES. Heavy all brass labeled tube. The tradition of split cane rods pioneered by such names as Phillipe, Green, Mitchell, and Murphy is honored by this model.
