Description

Vellum glaze plaque showing several sailboats in the Venice harbor with the city in the distance, the work of Carl Schmidt in 1920. Schmidt has signed in white slip in the lower right hand corner and the bottom is impressed with the Rookwood logo and date. There is a Schulman Collection sticker and label on the frame noting "Venetian Harbor, Venice, C. Schmidt". Plaque size is 8 5/8 inches by 4 7/8 inches framed to 14 3/8 inches by 10 3/8 inches. There is overall crazing.
