Description
French, early 19th century. A walnut French Provincial walnut commode with bronze mounts, the serpentine molded edge surmounting the serpentine drawer facade with three upper drawers over two long drawers, each conforming to the shape of the facade, with quatrefoil form molded panels with heavy bronze pulls with flower head escutcheons over the thickly constructed drawers, the facade flanked by astragal molded corner panels, the sides with serpentine molded panels, over a scalloped apron, all raised on scroll feet. Approximate height 38.5", width 49.25", depth 24.25". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Helen Ballard, Atlanta, Georgia.
