Item Details

Description

Felt pennant dated 1910 from the Belmont Park Aero Meet in New York with excellent graphics of early aircraft set against the Statue of Liberty, also with the seal of the Aeroclub of America. This event was held from October 22-31 of 1910 and was one of the earliest air shows held in the US less than 10 years after the Wright Brothers first flight. The graphics on the pennant show the most famous event of the show which was a race from Belmont Park over New York's Harbor and around the Statue of Liberty then back to Belmont. Pennant has some slight folds that show but the graphics are in wonderful condition and it displays very nicely indeed. A truly excellent piece for collectors of New York, patriotic, or early aviation history. Size: 23" x 11"
