Description
Extremely Rare Molded Stoneware Pitcher and Soap Dish, Amos Seavey, Chelsea, Suffolk County, MA, circa 1850, octagonal, salt-glazed pitcher with spurred handle and relief decoration throughout, including flowering urns, grape vines, and scrolled leaves, the underside impressed "AMOS SEAVEY / CHELSEA". Both in excellent condition. Pitcher with a small rim chip and a 2 3/8" in-the-firing seam line on reverse, which is glazed-over and not visible on the interior. H (of pitcher) 7 1/4" ; Diameter (of soap dish) 5 1/4".
