A fine embroidered satin altar frontal, probably made from an un-cut skirt panel, Chinese, mid 19th century, the midnight blue ground worked with lishui striped earth and sea border, the waves tossed with precious things, four finely couched and embroidered dragon roundels, 112 by 208cm; together with five small poor condition Chinese textiles (6)

Dragon roundels are good (both sizes), navy satin main area is good. Yellow satin edging bands have wear and have come un-stitched in places. There is wear to the outer blue floral embroidered outer blue floral embroidered borders especially to the lower border. Minor wear to striped earth mountain border. Cotton back is generally good, 2 holes and a 17cm split in one corner. Five small textiles are poor condition as described.
