TWO FINE HUNTLEY & PALMER WELL-DECORATED BISCUIT TINS
The first manufactured for H. & P. by Huntley, Boorne & Stevens, circa 1939, beautifully decorated to depict a very realistic 'Adam' inspired 1770's painted yew wood tea caddy, of canted square form, the four sides reserved with medallions, of classical maidens, the canted corners with neoclassical torchere, hence it's name "Muses"; the second, less ambitious in name, "Wood and Ivory Box", represents to perfection, an 1830's Anglo Indian ivory-mounted rhinoceros horn box, each with Huntly & Palmer markings.
