Description
Mexico, Aztec, ca. 1500 CE. This ceramic bowl is the body of a human-life figure with some fantastic characteristics. The bowl is the figure's back; his kneeling legs and loincloth for the base. His body inclues a large, distended belly, giant thumbs, and a grotesque face. He wears a large necklace. Size: 7" x 7" x 5-1/2".
Provenance: Ex-private collection of Lupita Tovar, silent screen actress of the 1930's, Bel-Aire, CA.
