1st edition 8vo (6.75 x 9 inches) in red buckram boards with gilt title on spine and front board, 381 untrimmed pages, by George Frederick Kunz, published by J.B. Lippincott Co., Philadelphia, 1917 with color frontis illustration and profusely illustrated through-out with 290 illustrations, 3 color plates and 54 black and white plates. Considered the foremost book on the history of finger rings from its origin in ancient times to today. This book has a facsimile of a 3 page letter tipped in between page 30 & 31 from Admiral Robert Peary, written to the author about the use of rings among the Eskimo peoples.
