A 10 x 13.5 inch albumen photograph of 10 young gentlemen in matching striped uniforms, very likely a rowing team, given the number and the fact that the smallest among the 10 is seated on the ground in the center and almost certainly the crew coxswain. All appear college age. This photo was taken by the well-known N.Y.C. photography Studio Pach Brothers, 841 Broadway and is circa 1880-90 and mounted on heavy card stock. The Pach Brothers were noted for photographing the rich and famous of the East coast, and also many sports teams, college and professional. There is a possibility that this is a baseball team, rather than a rowing team, and given the fact that there are no identifying markings on the uniforms, it is unlikely that they are a college team, but likely a private club of some type Benjamin Nott.
