A fine Nicoya figure from Costa Rica, ca. AD 700 – 1100. This Papagayo variant from the northern Nicoya Peninsula is 5-3/4 in high and depicts a seated male. He is posed with hands resting on his knees and is elaborately painted. Vivid paint, strong mineral deposits. Ex Austin estate.
