LOT NOTES
This bronze figure of Tsar Nicholas I depicts the Emperor in military uniform before the start of the Crimean War of 1853-1856. Norbert Michael Scrodl worked in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, and Warsaw during the period of 1849-1853. He is best known for his work as a sculptor, but also created numerous ivory carvings and portraits.
