An original print with a matte finish, depicting the soon-to-be married couple in a somber embrace, inscribed in blue fountain pen ink on the left side "For 'Freddie' / You done right by my / Billie [Crawford's childhood name] and you done / right by my 'Paw' - God / help you if you don't do / right by me!!! / My respect and friendship / Doug II / March 26 '29" and on the right side "For Fred / The greatest of them / all Bless you and / I do so hope we may / work together again / soon. / My deepest admiration / Joan;" photographer's blindstamp on the lower right corner; interestingly, the couple would get married just three months after they signed this image. (Please note the photograph has been trimmed and there is glue residue on the verso.)
