Mid-19th century oil on canvas folk art painting of an Indian encampment - foreground with an Indian maiden, large teepee, large canoe banked at shoreline, shoreline center with an Indian brave wearing a 3-feathered head dress and a black shirt with red sleeves along with a maiden both in canoe, upper section with mountain views, red sky, and unusual carved monument which also reflects in water, not sure if signed as no signature could be seen due to the old varnish; early gilded frame measures 28 1/2 x 22 1/2", sight view measures 22 1/2 x 16". Condition - dark varnish, no holes, tears or craquelure noted, painting appears to be all original with no restoration, painting appears lighter in photo than it actually is.
