Description
Two late Victorian silver footed bonbon dishes, the first of shaped oval outline and ornately embossed with floral and foliate scrolls, hallmarked Horace Woodward & Co (Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor), London 1886, maximum length measuring 8 inches (20.3 cm), the second of lobed circular form with scrolled and pierced rim and further floral and foliate motifs to the centre, hallmarked Birmingham 1891, maximum diameter measuring 5 1/4 inches (13.3 cm). Weight 7.73 ozt (240.3 grams). (2).
Condition
Both dishes display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use. Some minor dints and bumps. Heavy tarnishing is visible to the 1891 dish and it would benefit from a clean and polish. There are also a couple of breaks/small losses to the pierced sections of the rim. The hallmarks to both are clear and legible.
