American, possibly Ohio, large scale needlework, house bottom center flanked by fruited trees, surrounded by oversized birds, flower pots, and stylized flowers, "The Holy Angels" stitched within a floral cartouche held by two angels, stitched top, "Catharine Brenneman the 12 year", "Henry Brenneman/ 1836/ Fanny Brenneman" stiched bottom, floral border, ribbon rosettes in each corner, fine wool on linen, mounted to green silk backing, 16-1/2 x 18 in. (sight); wood frame fading, minor losses, loss to half of one rosette. Provenance: Collection of James E. and Jane Mulkin, Bessemer, Alabama
