Description
Central Asia, Hittite, ca. middle of the 2nd millennium BCE. Long and quite exceptional bronze sword! Large, leaf-shaped blade with central blood ridge and hollow socket to which a wooden, ivory or bone grip would have been attached with a large rivet. A very fine example not often found! Custom base. Size: 16-3/8"L (41,6cm).
Provenance: Ex-private Scott McCue collection, Santa Fe, NM.
