The AEAA is very proud to present this magnificent early 1910s hand painted ewer pitcher from the fabled Reinhold Schlegelmilch, and carrying their Royal Vienna Crown Germany decorating stamp. Ronald Capers identifies this mark as being by the Alboth Porzellanmalerie of Kronach, Bavaria. Alboth decorating studio was originally founded in 1872 at Coburg, moving to Kronach in 1898. It is documented that R.S. porcelain White Ware was sent to Alboth for hand decoration. An absolute ID of the potter is very difficult, as 3 or 4 of other top Bavarian porcelain manufacturers also supplied blanks to Alboth. This ewer pitcher carries the iron oxide red mark, which is attributed to Reinhold Schlegelmilch, more-so than the other stamps in black & brown. Our stunning oval lobed sculpted base ewer features gorgeous hand painted tea rose florals with tasteful gilt accents, plus a whimsical gilded dragon handle and spout. The weight is 1# 6 oz., measures 6.5 x 4.25 x 8.5 inches tall, and is in wonderful condition. Prussia Wreath & Star are; Metz, Hannover, Strassburg, Hamburg, Zittau, Bremen, Dresden, Chemnitz, Pomerania, Leipa, Borussia, Wittenberg, Berlin, and Minden.
