Description
WE SHIP! the AEAA is very proud to present this exceptional ca. 1950's hand blown air trap ladies jewelry box, finished in the Glasshouse De Twee Rosen (Amsterdam,Holland) style with faithful renditions of their 18th century art. This fine box may very likely be of French origin, and is an excellent rendition of the old world style. The 1657 refers to the date that Rosen moved to the Rozenstraat, while the shop and the furnaces were located on the canal side at the Rosengracht. In 1769, the factory moved to neighboring Haarlem, and the luxury glass production in Amsterdam ceased forever. The original factory was excavated in 2006. Our ladies box is in excellent condition, weighing 1# 8 oz., and measuring 4.25 x 2.75 x 3.75 inches tall. This heirloom is from the living estate of Ailene & Buddy Ford, noted dealers and lifelong collectors of valuable antiques.
