Sterling Hot Water Kettle on Stand, c. 1830, by Robert Hennell II, with elaborate floral repousse decoration, on scrolled legs to floral repousse feet, with alcohol burner, Wt.- 73.89 troy oz., H.- 18 in., W.- 10 in., D.- 9 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. The chain for one of the pegs that connects kettle to the stand is now lacking. An approximately 1 centimeter loss is noted to the floral decoration on the bottom of the stand. A pea-sized dimple is observed on the alcohol burner. A cluster of flea-sized scratches is noted on the kettle spout. Nine flea-sized perforations are seen along the stand. A one centimeter wide rough patch is noted near the bottom of the kettle. A lovely example.
