“PATRIOT SOLDIER / SILVERSMITH ENGRAVER”
1925-Dated. American Numismatic Society Sesquicentennial of Paul Revere’s Ride Medal. Bronze. Gem Mint State.
63.4 mm. This rare Paul Revere’s Ride Medal was Engraved by Anthony de Francisci, designer of the then current Unites States “Peace” Dollar. Obverse bust design of Paul Revere looking left, name above, ribbon-draped sword and urn below, text on either side of bust, “PATRIOT SOLDIER / SILVERSMITH ENGRAVER”, with dates “1755 1818”. The Reverse design depicts Revere watching for the signal from the Old North Church. Unusual and outstanding unique “convex” design to both sides. This is medal number 41 of of a reported mintage of only 170. The very first example we have offered and it is a beautiful Gem.
