Pre-Columbian, southern Mexico, Veracruz / Vera Cruz region, ca. 400 to 600 CE. Pottery head from a sonriente, clearly depicting the most characteristic aspect of the sonriente, a wonderfully amusing smile! He also wears a headdress with scrolled design in low relief. Size: 6-1/8" H.
